I am a Sydney sider and picked up this story a year ago from WALKABOUT ---
I e-mailed Bob Mathews to tell him that if he drove out west at sunset he could have Kangaroos WRAPPED AROUND HIS CAR!! --- and we wrote and voice mailed for a year ---- UNTIL ---- Bob and his wife Carolarrived in Sydney and my wife and I met them at the airport.

It was like we had known them all our lives, and we took them around the South Coast - Kiama - Kangaroo Valley etc --- AND --- to the JenolanCaves.

THANK GOODNESS ---- we managed to show them THREE KANGAROOS!!!!!!!!!! on the way to the Caves.

For their SILVER WEDDING ANNIVERSARY we all went out to dinner and stayed at their Hotel for the night --- Wonderful time. They stayed at our house for an AUSSIE BARBECUE as well.

Editorial Note: It is great to hear that people are making contact courtesy of this site. One of the marvels of modern technology. It is true that kangaroos are everywhere in Australia but often it requires a little local knowledge to be able to spot them. They don't, as a rule, hop across the road. Rather they stand, with a slightly curious expression, well camouflaged under some trees beside the road. We are all glad that Bob Mathews, whose email went up on the site over a year ago, has finally seen some kangaroos.
