highway standard
for about 30km then

Barkly Roadhouse at
junction with
Tablelands
Highway.

Highway
the
old
road
prevails
with
good
gravel
edges
and
occasional
2-3km
stretches
of
new
surface,
plus
a
30km
stretch
of
the
new
surface
approaching
Three
Ways.
However
the
last
20km
is
the
narrow,
original
surface.

road
(Stuart
Highway)
is
now
highway
standard.
Plenty
of
roadside
stops
with
room
for
10
or
so
vehicles,
some
with
shade
and
others
with
water
and
tables.

with
adequate

through

Kakadu

Park.
